If you have a disability or a problem with mobility, want to learn to drive or return to driving following an accident, injury or as a result of a medical condition or disability, our team of friendly, specialist driving assessors and occupational therapists can talk to you and assess how your medical condition or mobility challenge can affect driving, and if adapted driving controls or other adaptations may help.
We can also offer advice and assessment for alternative solutions for retaining your independence such as mobility scooters or wheelchairs. Advice and assessment is also offered for seating and access problems for adult and child passengers as well as drivers, mobility equipment stowage issues and advice on options to improve mobility and independence for non-drivers.
Our assessors are all very friendly, patient and experienced Approved Driving Instructors who have specialist teaching skills and knowledge of medical conditions and disabilities. We have a range of adapted vehicles available for your assessment, including a drive from wheelchair vehicle fitted with high-tech driving controls. We can also advise you on suitable solutions if you have difficulty getting into or out of your vehicle.
Our driving assessments are FREE for clients referred to us by health professionals. To apply for a free driving assessment, ask your GP, OT or other health professional to write to us or email us with your details and why you need an assessment.
If you would like to refer yourself for an assessment, please download our 'Client Paying' assessment questionnaire below. You can email it to us at [email protected]
